Dr Faya has completed his PhD in pharmaceutics where he was researching novel bioactive materials to target pathogenic microorganisms. He currently head the Biomaterials and nano-formulation research unit at the university of kwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. He has graduated over 15 Master’s students and pone PhD student and currently supervises 4 master’s students and 7 PhD students. To date he has been able to publish 30 papers, two book chapters with five papers under review.
