Introduction: Incretin-based therapies are an effective treatment for obesity or Type 2 Diabetes (T2DM) but requires daily subcutaneous injections, limiting patient compliance. While Dissolving Microneedles (DMNs) offer a minimally invasive alternative, they often suffer from loss of drug activity during fabrication and incomplete skin insertion. To overcome these limitations, we developed dissolving microneedles (DMNs) using our novel fabrication process. This study evaluated the ability to deliver novel incretin-based therapeutics via this new microneedle platform and its therapeutic efficacy in a animal model.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able to understand the fabrication process of the novel microneedle platform.
