Black pepper, a fruit widely used as a condiment and in traditional medicine, exhibits antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory activities. Piperine, its main pungent alkaloid, also has pharmacological and cosmetic properties (1). Nanocarriers are a well-established strategy to enhance the stability, bioavailability, and controlled release of bioactive compounds (2). This research aimed to extract and evaluate black pepper's constituents, followed by encapsulation to assess piperine's release profile and the nanoformulation's stability for pharmaceutical or cosmetic use.
