Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) remains a major health threat due to its high lethality and ability to persist within macrophages, limiting antibiotic efficacy. This study designed mannose-conjugated chitosan nanoparticles (NPs) loaded with moxifloxacin to target alveolar macrophages via mannose receptor binding, enhancing cellular uptake, intracellular drug delivery, and anti-MTB activity (1).
