Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most aggressive primary brain tumor in adults, characterized by infiltrative growth and a poor prognosis. Current therapies, which include surgical resection, radiotherapy and chemotherapy (temozolomide) had many drawbacks, which limits the efficacy of therapy. In this scenario, there is a significant improvement of nanotherapeutics that passed across the BBB and remain in specific neuronal area after post-surgical resection. This study aims to develop 3D bio-scaffold embedded with lipid nanocarriers to control release, have specific targeting, decrease side effects, and increase effectiveness after implantation.
