Lenvatinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor under clinical investigation for colorectal cancer (1). Oral Lenvatinib delivery to colon could increase local drug availability at the disease site and reduce off-target exposure. Sporopollenin exine capsules (SECs) are robust, biocompatible microcarriers suitable for drug loading and customizable surface coating (2). Lenvatinib-loaded SECs were coated with chitosan or Eudragit RS 100 to enable colon-directed delivery by delaying upper GI release and were evaluated via in vitro release and colorectal cancer cell culture assay.
