Introduction: Andrographolide (AG) exhibits potent anti-inflammatory and antiviral activities; however, its poor aqueous solubility limits effective delivery to respiratory mucosa.  Therefore, spray-dried 2-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD) inclusion microparticles were engineered to improve dissolution and enable dry powder inhalation.  Physicochemical, aerodynamic, and in vitro bioactivity profiles were assessed to determine their suitability for the pulmonary mucosal interface.
