FDmiX is a new, patented technology from FDX Fluid Dynamix GmbH [1]. The special geometry of the microchannels leads to a mixing of two liquids through oscillation. It is an alternative to conventional microfluidic glass chips and batch methods for the preparation of Drug Delivery Systems. To compare the new technology with conventional batch methods, polymer nanoparticles have been produced. The influence of the total flow rate (TFR) and flow rate ratio (FRR) on the particle size and particle size distribution was investigated.
