Introduction:

Topical nail therapy is challenging because the nail plate has low permeability, limiting drug penetration and reducing therapeutic efficacy [1]. Consequently, developing innovative formulations that safely enhance drug delivery across the nail barrier is crucial. Systems that transiently alter nail structure to improve permeation offer a promising approach for effective topical treatment [2]. The objective of this study was to obtain a thiolated biopolymer and to evaluate its impact on nail structure.
