Antimicrobial resistance is a global health challenge responsible for more than 1 million deaths worldwide each year (1). This highlights the urgent need for new antimicrobial strategies. Daptomycin, a clinically used peptide-based antimicrobial, remains sensitive to its physicochemical environment, which affects its activity and performance (2). It is used here as a model system to explore formulation strategies for peptide-based antimicrobials, often associated with reduced resistance development (3). Lipid-based nanoparticles (LNPs) with intrinsic antimicrobial activity offer a promising platform to stabilize such actives and combine antimicrobial effects.
