Formulation and Characterisation of Spironolactone- Eugenol-Loaded LeciPlexes for Topical Delivery

Introduction:

This study aimed to formulate and characterise spironolactone–eugenol-loaded LeciPlex nanocarriers for topical delivery. Although spironolactone is effective for androgen-mediated skin disorders [1], its topical use is limited by poor skin permeation and potential systemic effects [2]. LeciPlexes were investigated as lipid-based nanocarrier systems to enhance drug deposition in the skin, improve formulation stability, and maximise local therapeutic efficacy.

  • Describe LeciPlex formulation and characterisation for spironolactone–eugenol delivery.
  • Participants will be able to explain how LeciPlex systems enhance spironolactone skin permeation.
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to explain how formulation variables influence LeciPlexes.
