From Biotech to Pharma: Sustainable and innovative manufacturing strategies for Europe

Introduction: The complex global supply chains involved in drug production can be challenging to monitor and regulate, leading to potential environmental violations in less stringent regions. The chemicals, pharmaceutical residues and volumes of waste that are used and generated in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes may be ecotoxic or persistent, posing risks to health and the environment. Many of these issues can be relieved by more localised manufacturing based upon green chemistry principles and more efficient process design. MyBiotech has been pioneering innovative processes in pharma and biotech for high demand APIs and greener formulations, demonstrated by two of our current studies.
