According to the American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Facts & Figures 2024-2025 statistics, about 316,950 new invasive breast cancer cases occurred in U.S. women, with ~42,170 women dying from the disease. Challenges in the conventional treatment include non-specific drug delivery, the requirement for higher doses, and unwanted side effects. The current study aims to develop a targeted nanotherapeutic strategy that combines enzyme-mimetic activity, prodrug activation, and receptor-mediated uptake to selectively kill breast cancer cells while minimizing toxicity to normal cells.
