The appropriate positive charge on nanodrug surface favors their cellular uptake and tumor penetration abilities. Moreover, the anisotropic non-spherical carriers have superior tumor penetration capability than spherical carriers [1], such as disk-shaped liposomes. We designed a novel disk-shaped drug delivery system (TH-NDPEP) to delivery TRAIL and hydroxycamptothecin(HCPT) for breast cancer treatment. Upon reaching tumor tissues, TH-NDPEP became positively charged. The positive charge and disk-shaped structure can penetrate deeper in tumor tissues, possessing strong antitumor efficacy.
