Nowadays, most of the new active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), belonging to the class II and IV of the Biopharmaceutical Classification System (BCS), present poor oral bioavailability. To overcome these problems, new oral formulation strategies have been developed, such as lipid nanocarriers. Among them, Nanostructured Lipid Carriers (NLC) are widely described and have proven their ability to enhance the oral bioavailability of several API [1],[2].The main goal of this study is to understand better the mechanisms and pathways involved in the absorption of these NLC in the digestive system, both on in-vitro cell culture model, and on an ex-vivo model.
