Construction of Paeoniflorin Glycosides-Piperine Mixed Micelles and its application in murine ulcerative colitis

Introduction:

Research indicates that ulcerative colitis (UC) is driven by inflammatory cascade reaction and gut microbiota dysbiosis within the inflammatory microenvironment. Paeoniflorin total glycosides (TGP) has been shown to possess anti-inflammatory properties and regulate gut microbiota; Piperine (PIP) can enhance the gastrointestinal absorption of TGP. In this study, Pluronic P123/F68 was used as a carrier to construct a co-loaded micelle of TGP and PIP (TGP-PIP-MMs). The formulation was evaluated through characterization, changes in cytokines and alterations in the intestinal microbiota.

Learning Objectives:

We formed micell system and conducted systematic research on their characterization and in vitro release behavior.
TGP-PIP-MMs showed multiple pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory and microbiota regulation.
