CRS Young Scientists are a diverse group of people who are typically students and early career scientists in academia or industry under the age of 40 years,  with experience in the science, technology, and innovation of delivery of bioactives.

  • A desire to build their career and develop professionally

The Young Scientist Committee (YSC) is a team dedicated to bringing stimulating education workshops and new networking concepts to meet the needs of CRS member Young Scientists.

Whether you are just starting your PhD or already leading projects, the ability to clearly present your ideas to reviewers is one of the most valuable skills you can develop. Join Professional Development Workshop (I) and hear from a journal editor, senior reviewer, and early-career researcher on structuring ideas for funding and navigating peer review.

Early Career Scientist Meet-up Station

The Meet-Up Station is a dedicated physical space designed by the Young Scientist Committee (YSC) to bring together CRS early career scientists. It is organized by the YSC in collaboration with early career scientists from the local chapters. The main goals of the Meet-Up Station are to foster connections among early career scientists by providing a space for sharing experiences, exchanging ideas, and informal networking. Additionally, it aims to promote YSC and LC initiatives aimed at early career scientists, including mentoring programs, professional development workshops, scientific workshops, webinars, and networking events. Furthermore, it aims to facilitate collaboration between Early Career Scientist Committees to enhance collective efforts and opportunities.

YSC Scientific Workshop

Join us for Six talks from young scientists around the world! The submitted abstract for the annual meeting were selected to be given a chance to give their oral and poster presentation during the event. These abstracts will be evaluated and scored, the top six young scientists are invited to give a short oral presentation (5 Mins each followed by Q/A session) and poster presentation that will be judged live during this session. Awards will be given to the top two presentations one will be based on Audience poll while the other one will be based on scoring from the Invited Judges.
